- Installation of HVAC units, including electronic and mechanical components
- Installation of HVAC ductwork including flexible tubing and sheet metal construction
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units including electronic and mechanical components
- Install or repair fuel and water supply lines
- Conserve, install and recycle CFC and HCFC (Chlorflourocarbon family) refrigerants
- Install or repair electrical connections to HVAC components
- Install or repair HVAC system automation components
· Regular maintenance work on cooling units.
· Using tools and testing instruments, techncians diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
· Installation, replace or repair equipment that has been damaged due to abuse or regular use such as low and high pressure refrigerant lines.
· Make adjustment and do calibartions of themostatic controls. When needed, they install new air conditioning.
· Inspect and maintain refrigerators and ice machines, and chilled water supply systems.
· Air- conditioning technicians also clean blowers and coils, check tensions of belts and motors.
· They are involved in making plans and designs of new air conditioning systems including their installation and maintenance.
